Volunteers
Please note that everyone involved in the club is a volunteer - there are no paid teachers or helpers at all. We are very grateful to all of our volunteers for the time that they selflessly give to the Club.
Who's Who - Photos & Qualifications
We are signed up to volunteer reward schemes to enable our young volunteers to gain awards and rewards for the time and effort that they put into the club. These are:
Step into Sport:
Step into Sport is a national scheme run by Sports Leaders UK, Sport England and the Youth Sport Trust. "Step into Sport aims to encourage young people aged 16-19 to undertake an involvement in sports leadership and volunteering that will continue in later life." There are 3 levels of awards available:
Bronze (50 hours) - Stopwatch, Clipboard & Whistle
Silver (100 hours) - SiS T-Shirt
Gold (200 hours) - SiS Tracksuit
Two of our teenagers have completed the Step into Sport programme (Lee & Kathryn). Lee completed over 200 hours for Step into Sport and his Milennium Volunteer Awards. Kathryn completed over 150 hours for Step into Sport.
Hannah is currently signed up, and has achieved 100 hours for Step into Sport and "V" (the new name for Milennium Volunteers).
Get into Volunteering:
Get into Volunteering (GiV) is a new scheme set up by the Sports Development Unit of N.E. Lincs Council. "The programme provides opportunities for young volunteers aged 14-16 to build up hours in a sporting environment and be rewarded when target hours have been reached." Like Step into Sport, there are three levels available:
Bronze (10 hours) - Certificate
Silver (25 hours) - GiV T-Shirt
Gold (50 hours) - GiV Hoody
Hannah has completed the Get into Volunteering programme (the first person locally to do so) by volunteering for 50 hours at the club. Beth has achieved 100 hours for GiV - double the amount required for her Gold award. She has continued to help, even though she is not yet old enough to register with Step into Sport or "V".
Charlie & Emma are are both currently signed up, with both of them recently achieving their Bronze awards.
